Francesca Imig is a certified teacher, interpreter/translator and artist. She graduated with a B.A. in Studio Art in 2005 and a B.A. in Education in 2006 from the University of Arizona. She is currently teaching Spanish at Roskruge Bilingual Middle School as well as working at the University of Arizona’s National Center for Interpretation where she is a research specialist in curriculum development. She holds Arizona State Teacher Certifications in Spanish and Art Education. She was Associate Director and Interpreter for Immokalee: A Story of Slavery and Freedom, and produced and directed Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride. As a new U.S. citizen who voted for the first time in the last presidential election, she has a personal understanding of immigration in our community.
